The Mi-Ki packs a lot of heart in a small package. The Mi-Ki is friendly, enthusiastic, loyal, quiet, a great companion, an exceptional therapy dog, is non-shedding, and loves to participate in dog agility activities/events. People who might normally be allergic to dogs usually exhibit no symptoms around the Mi-Ki. The Mi-Ki makes an ideal pet for the apartment dweller. Our first Mi-Ki is a special companion who understands voice and American Sign Language.<p> The Mi-Ki is a new breed, developed in the Milwaukee area in the middle to late 1980's. The Mi-Ki is a combination of the Japanese Chin, which gives them their shortened nose, long-haired turned-up tail and eye set; the Papillion, which contributes to their high intelligence and lovable manner; the Maltese, which gives them their beautiful coat; the Shih Tzu, which gives them non-shedding hair and color variety; and the Yorkshire Terrier which adds to their petite size.<p> Through careful selection and breeding, these characteristics have been maintained in the breed standard that is the Mi-Ki.
